I am trying to get an idea on the value of a computer
1.8ghz p4 northwood 400mhz fsb sckt 478
a abit th7II motherboard
52x CD Drive
fx5700LE geforce
antec case psu and fan
linksys nic
4 128 mb rambus ram 800
any ideas on the value after a few years of service.

Splendid
No more than $50 because of the high cost of upgrading any component. RDRAM never caught on; it would cost at least $400 just to upgrade the RAM to 1GB. It uses AGP graphics, which has been superseded by PCIExpress, it doesn't support even the 533MHz socket 478 CPUs, it can't read or write DVDs, and the PS is almost certainly unsuitable for any modern PC.

Well the machine seams to always thing the cpu is at 80 degrees C and there is no hard drive. I has a 52x burner and an abit mobo but the stock intel cooler is crap the thermal pad looks kinda missing or something of the sort theres a fine black powder were the pad / geese should be and a geforce fx5700LE
so thats what im wondering its a friends and I'm thinking of buying it from him.

In all honesty I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it. And the only reason I'd pay $5 is because with a plate of glass on top it'd make a decent coffee table.

$50? I think it'll cost you $50 to get rid of it after couple months of use. Better off donating it and get some tax credit while it is still working (that is if you are in the US).
