I'm thinking of builidng a new high end gaming PC, and will be using AMD 64-bit CPU. The big question in my mind is which OS would be the best. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Thanks

xp pro or home for right now. Media center is basically xp pro with a bunch of media junk put it. Xp 64 works but some people are still having problems with drivers.
I use pro for my main os. I have xp 64 but almost never use right now. Havent booted to it in months. Guess I should try again.

Your better off sticking to a 32bit OS; less bugs and less driver (compaibility) headaches.
The Royale theme thats on MC is avaliable for XP and 2003. So if you just want the look, dont bother, download it from Microsoft.com.

I haven't tried the 64bit version, but I've had friends who have and they've mostly switched back to the 32bit version.

I have media center and it is pretty nice...I may not alway use it but I do enjoy it when I do. There is a lot that can be done with the media center os, go to a store, try it out.
