Maybe my google-fu is off, but I can't seem to find any other examples of this converter:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ [...] NTID=10036

The adapter converts standard stereo RCA plugs to three 1/8” stereo mini plug jack inputs. The use for Logitech is so you can connect their 5:1 speakers to your Xbox RCA outputs. However, I want to use them to connect some Altec Lansing 5:1 speakers to my TV. I can't find any other examples of anything like this. Anyone know?

Thanks!

I have never seen anything like it before. If that fits the bill, then why not get it? It's only $5 USD.

Just so you know... You're not going to get true surround sound with this. Just left and right channels.

Why not? RCA doesn't handle that?

Not just two of them no. The adapter looks to me like it would give you left/right/sub but nothing more. The sub signal is most likely a sum of the left and right to capture all the bass and then let the speakers do the filtering to cut of the frequency. RCA is a fine and popular connector but it only offers a pair of wires. I'm sure I've seen the like at Maplin in the UK.

Do your speakers have a digital in? This would be the way to go if they have.

Would it still be stereo sound, even if it isn't surround?
