I'm sure this topic is bandied about often, and if there is a relevant link just show me the way to go home....

I've an Asus A8NSLI deluxe running a 4400 dual core and a single 7600 GT and 2 Gb of RAM, Vista 32-bit, wondering if a second 7600 GT would add much, or should I just wait till the big Nvidia and ATI cards come down in price?

It would for sure help u.. If im correct.. your mobo will knock the slots down to x8 when in SLI, but if you've read the recent article Id say you would be ok.. now waiting for a single card solution to come down in price a slaping that in there instead is also a good option.. I think that i would wait and hold out on that 7600GT till I can get some sort of 8600 or something like that. I mean with Dx10 games comming soon, it just wouldn't make sense to me, to SLI it.. I would wait... Buut thats just one option and opinion.. :p

better to wait and get a higherend card.

and the x8/x16 thing doesnt make any difference.

yeah.. sry if i didnt make it clear enough that the x8 x16 won't really matter till we have beastier cards that use more bandwidth

It's just talk.

It better be! I shelled out $$$ for a sweet mobo.. I don't need some  PCI-E 2.0 messing up my upgrade path..

I agree

On the main topic i would say get a single card. SLI is basically useless for mainstream gamers it's only useful if you have bags of money and nothing to do but run benchmarks

Sell the 7600 and use that money, with what you have saved uo and pick up a more powerful card .

Thanks to all. That's what I was thinking, esp w/ Dx10 coming. I just wonder if my motherboard will be able to make use of it.
