Now, our school sale winXP professional upgrade for $10. So i am just wonderring what is the difference between pro an home. Does it mean pro is more stable, while home is more easy to use and has more entertainment software.

Another question, winXP pro upgrade means I can not do a clean install, my PC should have installed old version of Windows, like win2k, right?

Thanks

Go here to compare the two versions: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/howtobuy/choosing2.mspx.
You can do a clean install using an upgrade version of XP. Have your computer boot from the WinXP CD, start the install like you would a full version, then at some point fairly early on it will say this is an upgrade and it needs to verify that you have an earlier OS version, then it will prompt you to insert your Win2K or Win98 CD to verify. It's straightforward and quick, and I'd recommend it over doing the upgrade on top of the old Windows.
