i have a wireless router that i am trying to secure with WEP keys. i have a lap top and a desktop wirelessly connected to my router. my laptop worked perfectly when i connected and then entered the key. my desktop on the other hand, can connect to the router with the key, but is unable to access the internet. the second i remove the WEP security it works perfecty. am i missing something here?? any help is greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

Use WPA it's more secure. Generate a key or download from www.grc.com save to a note pad so you don't have to rely on typing, copy and paste. This eliminates typing errors.

just a heads up though WPA doesn't work well with all routers, my d-link runs like crap with it and cant even connect sometimes so i just use WEP

not sure why the desktop isn't working right unless you set restictions in your router menu, check you dont have mac adress filtering or something on
