What is a good software to play DVD, especially one that is free? I would like to be able to watch DVD's in slow motion, move frame by frame, and watch DVD's in fast forward. I have a sony DVD player that plays the frame at 1.4 X speed and you can still hear the audio. Is there anything available like this?

as far as software goes there are alot of choices some of the more popular ones are programs like Powerdvd, windvd, etc but for free ones that might be a problem. Since then you get into copyright issues since commercial dvd's are encrypted using CSS. but if they are unecrypted disks than it should be just as simple as googling it.

most of these programs have trials so you can try them out before you decide.
