Hey, I have a little bit of a strange network setup. I want to use a WRT54G as an access point but am using a WRT54GS as the main router. I have taken the time to make a diagram to simplify life. The problem with is that when i set everything up I have to of the same SSID wireless networks. There is no seamless roaming in my house. I have to disconnect from one and log onto the other. To complicate life even more. I am using static IP's on all the computers.

I assume you want one router to communicate wirelessly to the other router and act as a repeater? If so, I think you need a 3rd party firmware to enable WDS+AP on them. I tried something like this a while ago, but couldn't get it to work. Good luck.

If you want them connected by wire, just disable DHCP in the router that is not connected to the modem.
