Volume auto maximise in media player when seeking/pause-play

I've got this really annoying problem. Whenever i watched videos on media player and try to seek to another part of the video, or when i pause and then replay, the volume automatically goes up to maximum, and it literally blows my ears apart. Could someone tell me why it does that and how to fix it? I use winxp pro, creative audigy 2, media player classic 6.4 (from real/quicktime alternatives). Thanks very much.

  1. Turn your speakers down?

I haven't seen the issue myself, but try playing the video in Media Player 10 and see if it happens.
