i,ve searched for this but found no answer, I have about 1.6 gig of
uninstall folders in my windows folder. Are these folders relevant or
can I delete them?

I believe you are talking about the Windows Update fixes that have been
applied to your system. If you know that you will not uninstall any of
them, then the answer would be that you do not need them. However,
unless you are having problems with hard drive space, there is no
particular need to remove them. At least this way, if any issues with
any of MS's fixes come up, you can always remove it. The Knowledge Base
# is part of the folder name, so you can look up info on each, btw.

If you are sure you don't want to uninstall these hotfixes, yes you can
delete them. Be aware that they will be left in Add/Remove programs.
On Doug Knox pages there's an utility to do what you want.

www.dougknox.com -> WinXP Utilities -> Remove Hotfix Backup Files

Doug has a lot of other useful tips and tricks / Utilities..
