i've searched for this but found no answer, I have about 1.6 gig of
uninstall folders in my windows folder. Are these folders relevant or
can I delete them?

All of the windows XP updates end in KB(number)
If you never intend to uninstall these updates then yes its is ok to delete
the uninstall files
