Iv just bought a new computer which takes DDR2 Ram (2048Mb) and an old computer with 1024Mb of Dual DDR400 ram, if i use the old ram in my new computer to expand it to 3072Mb will this have any speed increase or will the fact im using slower ram slow the computer down.

DDR and DDR2 aren't the same thing you cant put both on a motherboard, you either have DDR or DDR2, best thing to do is sell your old DDR memory

The DDR400 won't physically fit in the same slot. (Unless you mod it slighlty of course ;) ) But yeah it still won't work.
