I have two computers that both have onboard 10/100/1000 NICs. If I were to get this switch(BTW what do you think of that switch, it's cheap I know hehe): http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProd [...] 478&depa=1
would I need to get CAT6 cables to achieve the fastest transfer rates or would good CAT5e work just as well? Reason I ask is because I have a roll of like 900+ feet CAT5e cable that I know I will never use lol.

Thanks guys =)

Unless your transfering huge files or streaming video between the computers you wont really need the 1000 speed. Go ahead and try the cat5e cable. It wont hurt to try.
