I recently put together a new computer with a evga 680i mobo. I will be getting a 8800 gtx with next paycheck, but until then all I have is a x1300 pci graphics card.

Not pci-e mind you, pci. It doesn't work correctly in vista. SIW detects it but the device manager in vista doesn't. Anything with a hint of graphic useage is very choppy, even webpages.

I do get a signal from the x1300 for my monitor which I am using right now. Also, used this same card on another machine and vista rated it at a 2.7. With the 680i machine it is rated at a 1.0. Tried to install the latest ati drivers but they couldn't detect a device. Any thoughts? Is there any way to get it to work right?

You said it just a PCI card and not a PCI express card? If it a pci card do you have it in a pci express slot or pci slot.

yes, it's in a pci slot and just to check if something was wrong with the specific slot i put my sound card in it. it worked fine with the sound card. i've spent hours and hours on this and still can't figure it out.
