Very good system, congratulations! :D

Do you plan on overclocking? because the x2 3600 is supposed to be a great overclocker, running stable and very cool.

Paired with that cpu, your cooling is supposed to be good. Depends on your temps though.

If you can post you cpu temps for idle and load then we will see what we can do.

Watch out for the Rosewill PSU. From what I've been able to find out, Rosewill is rebadged from various manufacturers so it might be quite good or complete garbage (or anywhere in between).

Well first off it's better to ask before you buy your stuff..

PSU is ass .. get a COOLMAX CR500-B (or similar) like $20 on sale - ton better. Antec has a mad case and includes a good psu called performace plus or something.

MOBO .. may not be able to OC well or has severly limited BIOS options, is BIOSTAR and alot better can be had for another $20 (ASUS, ePox, GIGA, MSI)

CPU .. retail box like $5 more usually decent heatsink and 3-5 year warranty included .. 10x multiplier in X2 3800+ goes along ways farther when OC'ing

Cooler .. I like Arctic Cooling's beefier HSs (It's german what can I say)

Memory .. no higher than CL5 ; $110ish for 2GIG is normal (athlons like low CL ) . Newegg has Corsair XMS 2GB CL5 $129AR FS, $151AR FS CL4

Video card .. X1950PRO is defacto standard - 8800GTS320 is next step (if you game at all)

Now with all that said i'm not sure your main intensions with this machine. Usually the point of building your own is to OC and have a gaming rig. Otherwise DELL sells X2 3600+ machines alot cheaper than this with a FP monitor and free shipping and support and vista OS included.

I'll monitor this thread to help you but if you don't hit at least a 2.6-2.8G OC I'd start RMAing stuff. Definately return to X1900GT for the X1950PRO a major step up and get the COOLMAX PSU IT IS HEAVYDUTY. GL

What is your budget? I can sell you a generic PSU that will kill that Rosewill PSU. Everything is great for a budget PC but never cheap out on the PSU. It is one of the most important parts of your PC so don't cheap out on it.

Biostar T-Force range of motherboards are decent. Read reviews or get the facts on components before you slate them.

Memory .. no higher than CL5 ; $110ish for 2GIG is normal (athlons like low CL ) . Newegg has Corsair XMS 2GB CL5 $129AR FS, $151AR FS CL4

AMDs prefer higher speed over latencies.

lol you sound so arrogant there ;)

3 year warranty. X2 3600 is only 9.5 multiplier, the extra .5 of the 3800 doesn't really go "a long way" does it.

Cooler .. I like Arctic Cooling's beefier HSs (It's german what can I say)

...WTF ?

Biostar is a value board if you want to save $10 and lose alot of features and probably screw your overclock go for it.?

You don't know what your talking about Athlons always favor low latency CL2-DDR/CL4-DDR2 .. Pentium favors speed / bandwidth. Go back to school cause you ain't got it.

Your quick! He's the one that asked for input.

??? when OCing it does brainiac

WTF is like worn out like COOL esp. when you use it like that. He said he got an Arctic Cooling HS - go back to your hole cause you obviously can't follow this thread.

Can't you read? It’s coming TUESDAY.

BTW he will be able to get a fairly good OC on that board, I wouldn't go too high with the Rosewill PSU though.

Other than the PSU, great system!
