I am having a strange problem with a computer i built for my sister. it works fine at my house but when i take it to her house and plug it in it wont go past the xp splash screen it gets there and just reboots. it stoped working and started this after RCN put a cable modem on it. any ideas could it be a power problem the cable modem?

Have you tried removing the cable modem? Is it USB or PCI?

If it worked fine at yours, it can only be

a) A problem occuring in transit - in which case, good luck!

-or-

b) Any hardware changes you've made since the move - I.E. that cable modem

Are you using a UPS? Could be bad power coming into the house. Seen it once before, though, not as bad as you are saying.

Open case and reset all cards including memory. And check all of your plugs too.

My old 300 PII used to do the same thing when i moved it for any reason. Have to go in and reset everything.

Just a thought.
