Hey guys I have 4600 and for some reason I cant get It past 2.6 stable. I played with the ram, (kingston 800 cl5) (1.9 v) the fsb and cpu voltage (1.35 v max) on my ASUS m2n motherbaord. For some reason I think its my cheap motherboard holding me back. Is there any way to unlock cpu voltage? What other things can I try?

2.6GHz is what many K8s do on stock voltage; maybe setting the Vcore to 1.40 or 1.45 will allow for another 100MHz but 2.6GHz.
You can also try to lower the HTT multi from 5x to 4x but you're still on low figures, with the HTT around 217. It's not a motherboard issue because I have the worst chipset you can have nowadays on mine and have managed to get it super stable above 240.

This sucks. Ive search high and low on the internet and no one seems to have this MB. Also i rechecked and the highest the vcore can go up to is 1.3v :(. I was thinking if there was a way to flash my motherboard using a different bios or something. This cant be the end of the road.

its probably your mobo.
you may get better results after a mobo bios flash.
and maybe not?

Is it possible that the problem is that i have a 65watt x2 4600? Is that why i cant change the voltage?

PS if a Mod sees this, can you move it to the overclocking forum? Thanks

you could sell it on ebay and get an e6600 they will run 3.37ghz with very low voltage!
Why don't you sell your @ss on ebay and get an X6800 instead of bothering us with BS posts?! When will you learn that making a good choice does not always mean selling what you have and getting a Core2

*Sigh* You don't know when to stop do you?

AM2 and 939 Voltage Modifications
Also, look into getting better RAM if possible. What you have is good, but a CL3 or lower is what AM2 boards prefer (finicky little devils aren't they).
