I'm finally ready to buy a new video card and I need help picking out the right one. The games I want to play are Supreme Commander and C&C Tiberium Wars. My budget is $200 (Canadian). Here are the contenders:

-EVGA E-GEFORCE 7900 GS KO 256mb - $176.62
-Sapphire Radeon X1950GT 256mb - $194.99
-Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 256mb - $199.99

Which one gives the best bang for the buck, or is there something better elsewhere? I was also wondering if there would be any issues with my power supply.

Thanks for any help.

-Core 2 Duo E6400

-2gb DDR2 5400

-Antec Sonata II
-Antec Smart Power 450w

Wait for midrange dx10 cards. better performance, dx10 compatibility, and by then these cards will have dropped in price, so you can make a better choice.

X1950pro!!! This card rocks! Do shop around and look for the X1950pro with 512MB memory.

Make sure that your power supply has enough AMPS to run it.

I also have a quick video card question for Supreme Commander.

My system consists of a P4c 3.4 @ 3.74GHz , 1.5GB PC3200, but I'm using a ATI 9600se 128MB . I just bought SupCom and my performance is awful. I was wondering if I should sink my $$$ into a 7600GT. I'm really just trying to figure out if spending $150 is going to make my game play smooth, thats all I'm really looking for. If anyone has a similar setup and has SupCom running smooth please let me know.

Thanks,

Weddie

Surpeme commander should be CPU based. Graphic card do little more than CPU.

I heard notebook with duo core run it smooth with decent graphic card.
