Just wanna know if any of you see something very wrong with this. Im on a very tight budget, but I think the preformance/price will be good enough for the games I play. I have like 6 cases in the garage. =P. I really wanted an Intel chip but I cant afford it.

I (and I bet the hole community) will recommend that you save a little more to get the cheapest core 2 duo which is the E4300.

Is really worth it. My friend (who is a noob overclocking, he really sucks *ss when overclocking) has his at 3.0Ghz stable easily.

Looks fine to me.If your budget is limited, you'll do just fine with that hardware. As for the amd processor, well again, you have no worries as it matches well with everything else.I also heard that particular cpu does over clock fairly well.Goodluck and good gaming.

Should be fine for someone on a tight budget. I would suggest a slightly larger hard drive, especially if you have 6 cases of games! Really, you can get a 250 or a 320 Gb drive for something like $20 more.

Best of Luck

the cpu is fine, just clock it a little higher....

and if i were you i would look for an used 7800gt. it shouldn`t be much more expensive and is much more powerfull.

happy gaming!

I see Sanji's influence on your build......;)

Good build on a tight budget. A bit more money will get you a 7900GS and/or a C2D 4300 that can overclock like a beast and trounce AMD.

But if you can't go higher with your budget at all, then it's a solid budget build you got there.

Soldevil, wait until Apr 22, Intel will drop the price... a big drop ! Then get Core 2 Duo, E4300, E6300, or E6400... what ever you can afford. As several peple say...it's really worth.

Or if you live in West Coast, Fry's B&M ( not avaliable online ) usually have C2D bundle with Mobo, last time E4300 and ECS mobo was bundle for $170. So it's like you get mobo for free.

Yeah, but ECS is no good for OCing with, I'd say that the AMD set up you have is solid, you can always throw in another hard drive/vid card later when you need it. There are price drops though, you may want to wait out a little longer.

hasbrown, you are right about the mobo. But anyone own the E4300 can try this...

Well, hasbrown, the mobo is free anyway !

And that AMD should hit close to 3.0GHz. There's nothing wrong with AMD; in this case, it's $100 cheaper than Intel. You just can't argue with a dual-core CPU for $75.

First thing I see is a less-than-optimum hard drive. The AAJS variant of that capacity from WestDigi has the best average sustained write-rate of 7.2k hard drives. Its only $1 more, iirc. Check the Egg.

Thats right. Recent price drops of amd processors made it impossible to resist.
I dont know where did OP get this 130$ part but its way overpriced now.
Maybe its not USD?

Are all new hdds equaly quiet? I have heard some nasty not-so-old 80gb WestDigis.
If there is something that really disturbs me is the whine of the hard drive. Make sure you get something that runs like a whisper wind.
I dont think the difference in performance will be noticable as much as the noise.

I know it, this is true, it would still be a solid system no doubt, but I think I'd go with the overclocking option, its funner :p I have an ECS board for my E6300, biggest mistake ever, it advertises as being able to overclock on the box, but you can do jack, sucks :( should have waited and bought the GA S3.

Thats a cool link though man, wish I could do something like that with my E6300, lol

But you need a BIOS that supports 1333? Most currently only support 1066, except 680i....in which case I highly doubt someone with a 680i would have a 4300.

So this seems like a bit of a mismatch.....a 4300 and a 1333 mobo to make this work.......?

Skyguy... The 1st link is for E4300, the 2nd one's for E6300. Check for their mobos which aren't that fantacy. Several people push E6300 to 500x7 = 3.5 GHz with 1066 mobo. The memory is the one you should worry about. You need to spend more time study before OCing yours.

Ah. Well, my OC is tapped out because my case is by the furnace vent and my temps are max'd out, so can't go higher. No need for me to do the mod, was mostly curious. Thx.
