Cutting it can be a pain. For thin sheets, which is what I assume you'll be using, the method is much like cutting glass. If you're gonna cut with a knife, score the acrylic 6-8 times until you have a nice deep score, then clamp it and snap it.

Power tools make it easier. Get either a specialty acrylic saw blade, or alternativly, use one designed for metals such as copper. Make sure the blades are uniform, and have NO RAKE. Otherwise you'll get a screwy-looking cut.
