Ok. So I've been doing my share of research and I am going to try to piece together a computer for the first time. I will mainly use this computer for multimedia (internet, music, random things) and gaming in my spare time (mostly mmorpgs like Vanguard, EQII). I want it to be as future compatible as possible. Thats why I dont have the top of the line cpu, mobo, or graphics card. I figure in a year or two I can change just these parts to keep it running fast (bearing that the other parts are still compatible/working. Switch might be to an intel, C2D, GeForce build). I went with AMD on this because of the price cuts coming soon and I don't plan on overclocking it to start with. Well here it is. Let me know what you all think, or if I have any problems that just wont work together. Thanks in advance.

2 things: the ram is a total waste if you don't overclock. Get the much cheaper Corsair of the same size & speed; the Gb lan card is not needed. The onboard is Gb as well. While it's Gb, you won't take full advantage of it unless you have Gb router/switch. The average DSL is 5Mb down.

Don't know about that monitor. For about the same money you can get something with 1680x1050 and 5 ms response time instead of 1280x1024/8ms. Viewsonic is a good brand. So is LG, as far as I can tell from personal experience. Samsung gets the best reviews but it's usually more expensive.

Ok. Didn't notice the NIC on the MB. Will canx that out. Maybe look around at some monitors and memory a little more. The rest I think I'm gonna go ahead and order then. Thanks for the help.

If you aren't overclocking, then I'd stick with generic RAM. No need to spend what you aren't going to use. Get 2GB of ram though. In my opinion of course.
