I'm fairly experienced with computers, but I'm no expert. Recently I've come across a problem that I can't diagnose. First, here are my computer specs:

AMD Athlon X2 3800+
2 Gigs RAM
6800 GT
Can't remember the HDD, but it's a 160gig

I've been experiencing random restarts and crashes. They're not frequent; I'd say they only occur once a month. However, I still worry. Also, in games like Halo PC thing seem to, "speed up". When this happens, everything happens at a more accelerated rate than it normally would. It's really strange, and forces me to restart before the problem ceases.

I've updated Windows at every opportunity unless I get word of bugs in patches. Any suggestions?

well i would first get a big dust buster or canned air and blow out the whole inside of the pc. that includes all hte cracks and crannies inbetween things. THe restart could be due to heat buildup. NExt check for malware. see how that goes.
