My price range is right in this area and I am just not sure which way I should go. Any recomendations for a processor in this price range that are socket AM2 would be greatly appreciated. I am putting it in an Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe and do want an OC friendly processor, thanks a lot.

4600+ Windsor, even if you had to choose between a 4600+ Brisbane and a 4600+ Windsor.

Thanks...care to elaborate?

The Windsor cores are faster than the Brisbane cores of the same clock speed / rating in several benchmarks due to the higher latency in the L2 cache of the Brisbane core.

Here's one with the future price cuts included.

[edit]

Whoops, theirs no 4600 included in this one. But you can draw similarities between the 5000 and 4800.
Future price drops :?: :!:
That table has the X2 4400+ for $115 and X2 4800+ for $138,...now, ewiz already has the X2 4600+ for $118 and free shipping:

and the X2 4200+ for $100:
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=A64-42CUBX

The price cuts are already here.

Just saw it; an authentic steal. They're cleaning up the shelves and if Intel watching, they'll empty them until April 22 and be happy with it. There are a lot of people flooding the forum lately lately that are getting a X2; they got so cheap while Intel hasn't brought down even the 805 yet, so now it's ironically priced the same as the X2 3600+.

ok, assuming I am going with the Windsor 4600+, there are 2 different versions on Newegg, one of them has the denotation of (65W). Which one should I grab?

Yeah - I'm looking at upgrading my HTPC with an x2 4600+ 65w after the price cuts take effect...even been toying with it as an upgrade to my wifes P4 2.4 Northwood...C2D's are great and I'll definatly wait to make a decision until after Intel's cuts later in the month but it's going to be hard to say no to an x2 4200+ or better for < $100.....

Even if that's the case, they've been tested to use lower voltage to achieve the same performance. That sounds like all positives to me.

The rate AMD is going, I so want to build an X2 system and get rid of this Preshot system!

8O Excuse my ignorance plz, what is a Preshot system? Is it as ancient as my Dell? (which, after I complete my AM2 build, I may donate to the Smithsonian so that they can display it next to the 1st wheel ever invented) !

They run on 1.20V compared to 1.35V of the 89W version and I'd not call it 'slightly lower voltage'.

Just in case you weren't entirely kidding, "Preshott" is a joke term used for the "Prescott" core Pentium 4s, notorious for their heat output.

 A 'Preshot' is just a hot Prescott (a P4 core); Prescott + hot = Preshot.

I think 65 nm Brisbane core is better to oc, because the lower voltage, actually I bought AMD 4000+ X2 from newegg few day ago. I oc the 4000+ 2.1 ghz to 3.11 but now I'm slow to 3.0 ghz to run Prime95, no freeze, no crash everything is fine, but is important the motheboard and the memory, because if not limitate your oc. Ahhh!!!! good cooler if mandatory I use Scynthe Ninja is like monster but is better to make the job. Another reason or positive is multiplier are half number (9.5, 10.5, 11.5) give slighty more oc if compare with full number of Windsor (9, 10, 11). Everything here is about the heat, lower voltage and 65 nm lower tempeture.
