this is whats coming...
C2D 6600
MSI P6N-SLI Platinum
Mushkin DDR2-800 2x1GB 996527
CoolerMaster Hyper TX w/ AS5
eVGA 8800gts 640

i have an Antec full tower case
samsung DVDrw w/lightscribe
2 SATA HDD
Enermax 650w PSU w/28A on +12V rail

I could OC if i needed, but would like this rig to last at least a couple years. however I would to get the most out of the CPU:Ram combination.
i.e. would this ram run at 800 Mhz without overclocking the cpu or fsb? if not, what would i need to change in order to get the ram to 800 mhz? a slight OC is acceptable, but i feel the system will be powerful enough for my needs at stock settings for cpu and gpu.

any and all input is appreciated

what would be the benefits of a 1:1 ratio? should i consider running at the lower memory speed to achieve that ratio, or would the best performance be from leaving it at 800Mhz?

leave ram at 800mhz, and if you have good cooling and airflow try to oc your fsb to 400mhz for 1:1. you can use c2d oc guide for reference (cpu/oc section).
