In order to take advantage of the cores does the application(Program, Software, etc) need to support multiple threading? I mean it seems that software would need to be coded for threading to take advantage of this.

Also dose Windows automatically handle threading applications using multiple cores? Even if the software isn't programmed(coded) to thread to different processors?
