Hi Guys :D

I'm a total noob with XP ... been running Win2K for years, but have been totally unsuccessful in installing Win2k on SATA (Raptor) so, in desperation I glommed XP SR2, which installed on SATA flawlessly. Now, my problem is XP can't (Wizards no help whatsoever) connect to Inet. I have a Netgear four port gateway-router (DSL) that works just fine. I can ping the router, any of the attached systems, and any web address from XP, but the silly SOB refuses to permit direct access ... it's got to be a XP config problem. XP Help is essentially useless, so any ideas from you guys is humbly requested :D

Look at the advanced tab in the windows firewall properties. There is a check box for allowing network connections. If that doesn't work then do what Zoron said and disable to eliminate that as being a problem. Post back your results.
