Is XP64 a good option with Vista delayed

When I ordered my computer last year, I held off buying XP 64 because Vista was expected in summer 2006, and because of some reported problems with XP 64, mainly drivers. With Vista being continually delayed, I wonder if it would be worthwhile to go ahead with XP 64. Are the driver issues being solved, or do the software companies care that much? It doesn't make that much sense to me to have a 64 bit capable machine and not use a 64 bit OS. Anybody got any ideas on this?

drivers are still not available for many hardware. don't worth it right now for normal usage

Stay away from XP 64. It's like WinME no driver support. Everyone waiting for Vista.
