thanks for any input.
#1. Remove that poll before someone starts a FLAMEWAR!
#2. Let us try to help you before you just start bashing companies....it makes some people particularly angry.
#3. Set your ram to a slower speed before you start overclocking. Set the timings to 2.5-3-3-8 or higher. Also set the speed to lower. That way you don't have to worry about the ram being the problem.
#4. Make sure to set the hypertransport frequency to a lower value, usually 4x at first, then lower if needed later.
#5. Make sure to have adequate cooling! The AMD stock cooler is usually NOT adequate for overclocking. Make sure that the heatsink is installed correctly; with the correct amount of thermal paste.
#6. Disable Cool 'N Quiet.
#7. You may need to add extra voltage to make the processor overclock correctly. Go slowly if you value your processor.
I love the DFI Expert MB and use Optron 146 with G.Skill PC-4000HZ ram.
The Optron runs 950Mhz OC and both it and the MB are all @ stock volts.
I use a Thermalright SI-120 cooler in a CM Stacker case and the CPU runs only 2C above room temps.
Your problem could be the times on the Corsair ram or a PSU not on the DFI list.
When you get your settings correct the DFI boards OC better than any I have ever used.....but they are not "build-n-run" like a Asus, they need a user to know what they are doing more so than other boards.
That site also has a Corsair factory Rep that knows the in's and out's of the DFI MB's when used with Corsair ram (they are the hardest to set up correctly for some odd reason).

DFI and AMD sucks????? Ha ha ha ha! the good thing about this post is very soon your gonna get aaaaalllllllooooottttt of replies! And your NOT going to like them at all.
Dude, try and edit this fast or you might wanna go ahead and just create a new account with a different name. hope this helps!
Yeah, my DFI and AMD combo sucks so much that my opty 170 maxes out at only 3.1 and runs an everyday clock of only 2.8. DAMN YOU DFI FOR ONLY ALLOWING ME TO OVERCLOCK 40-55%...DAMN YOU!!!!
Seriously, you're a noob, DFI is above your level...go buy an MSI or Biostar.
you deserve to be flamed solely for using caps in your title.
i aint an overclocker but i have a feeling you have no clue what you are doing and still expect miracles. did you even do a bit of reading in the overclock section of these forums before trying it or did you just "read a few tips".
first rule of buying a system is never buy with the expectation of overclocking unless you really know what you are doing.
then agian i get pissed with a lot of members here who will advise people to buy a low end cpu then overeclock it without even the slightest regards for the buyers abilities. you on the other hand give newbies a bad name.
