I have a 6600Gs in my Cen D 2.6 system. Looking to get a little boast out of my video card.

Now, i got a 200$ CND gift cert for future shop, and saw these two cards:

ATI X1650 Pro (512) (199.99$)

and the

ATI X1600 Pro (512) (169.99$)

Now at frist glance they looked the same, even looking at the tech specs i could not really see a bigg difference, which one should i go for?

Out of those two the X1650pro is the best. The3 X1600pro wouldn't really be an upgrade. The X1650pro would be an upgrade, but not a huge one. For a significant difference you should be looking at least at either a 7600GT, or X1650XT.

there was a mistake on my frist post, its a 6600 GS, not a GT, only a 128mb card.

I just located a 7600GT for about the same price as the x1600, all and all it seems like the better card, but i cannot get it in AGP. damnit.

The 7600GT is a much better card than the x1600pro.

yah, my major problem is i have this gift card, and the only store its good for is futureshop, and they dont have much. this card is only for a quick fix before a new system is built, looking for a little more bang when i play just cause and dark messiah.

Here you go. Just above you price range ($219 CND), and well worth it.

If you need to buy at future shop, the X1650 PRO is much better than the X1600.

Same graphics processor, but the X1650 PRO's memory speed is almost double the X1600 PRO.
