Ok people, a few tips for those of you who want to actually remain "safe".
1. Never EVER buy anything with the words Symantec, Norton, or AVG in it if you plan on using it as your main form of protection. I use Symantec and AVG as backups, but I would never totally trust them for protection.
2. For an all-in-one, go for Zone Alarm Security Suite. It contains Firewall, AntiVirus, AntiSpyware, IM Protection, Email Protection, Program Control, Identity Protection, and Parental Control, all in one nifty package. It's not a system hog either.
3. For Spyware, I would also recommend Spybot- Search and Destroy. It's an amazing application that is capable of rooting out almost all the spyware and malware on your system.
4. For other HDD upkeep, I redommend CCleaner, and RegCleaner. These useful apps delete uneeded registry files from your PC, giveing yoo much faster boot times.
