Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a motherboard with an assured 500Mhz FSB. I'll be using OCZ PC2-8500 memory, so linked or unlinked is not an issue. Would a Gigabyte DS3(P)/DS4/DQ6 be sufficient? Does an ASUS 650i Plus have a better shot at getting 500Mhz? Or will I need to go all the way for an ASUS 680i SLI Plus?

Also, I'd like to buy a board that doesn't have too many issues. I'm not talking about an easy ride to 500, because I realize that is a rocky road, but I mean issues at stock. I'd rather not have network ports die on me, dead ramslots, get random reboots and such at stock.

Your comments and experiences would be highly appreciated ^^

imo you'll find it easier to hit 500fsb (& indeed go further) with a good 965 than with 650i.

So, look at the Gigabytes, Abit AB9 QuadGT (my fav) & probably Asus P5B-Deluxe (seems from the forums that's still better than Commando).
Of course any of them will only be as good as the supporting components - there seems to be an opinion that late C2D CPUs aren't overclocking as well as older & you'll need good cooling.
