How much is a Half Dollar(Those 50 Cent big coin) Gold Coin worth? It has no Metal inside(Tested) and It can Bent... I calculated it and it said it's worth $1.5k for 1 ounce which seems like it is one ounce... Im not even sure if it's $1.5k... How much will this Gold Coin worth and how to actually test it with stuff on in the house w/out spending money to test it?

this?

http://www.google.com/search?q=gold+eagle+coin&hl=en&source=hp&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=766l1937l0l2094l10l6l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0&oq=gold+eagle+coin&aq=f&aqi=&aql=1

they aren't solid gold. they are plated.

or this?

which isnt worth much at all

there are solid gold wafers which look like coins but are normally very small, by small i mean dime or smaller.

if you really want to know.... go to a coin collector....but dont be suprised if your estimate is way wrong.

It's This gold right here:
http://goldinfo.net/coins/2011-american-buffalo-gold-coin-174.aspx
BUT it doesn't have the $50 face value on it but instead, it has 2011 on it and doesn't have those 1OZ .9999 stuff on it... On the face, it also said copy on it between the next/throat(Down the hair)... Also it's proof gold(Shine/finish)
Is it real gold or it's just plain fake gold?... My bro bought it for $10 from this T.V. commercial and he bought like 5 of them but is not sure if it's real gold or not as he bought it for $10 from the TV commercial...
BTW, when you said it's plated gold, does it means they just spray gold on the whatever underneath it?

unless it was an offer direct from the mint, chances are you guys got gyped. i've heard of special promotional offers but nothing as insane as $10 for a $50 face value coin (typically prices are face value + some)

when i say plated i mean it has a very thin layer over another type of metal. copper pennies are like this now (plated not solid). the layer can be very thin (like a few pieces of paper thick) or less. its not sprayed on.. http://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.ehow.com/how_4601441_gold-plate-metals.html&sa=U&ei=yLGyTt7eAdC_tgehkvnbAw&ved=0CB4QFjAC&usg=AFQjCNE78qPaC3Vx0bDMq958Eza_vKJJqg

knowing how you got the coin, it might or might not be real gold. if it is, it most certainly isn't solid.

all legal tender in the usa MUST have the face value printed on it. i've never heard of one saying copy either. most likely its a knock off product.

It's probably a copy from the real thing... BTW, It's not paper thick from the way i see it as I used a knife to cut like probably 3-6 paper stack together and it's still gold...

in that case i'd worry about carat also.

something that is 10 carat or less is certainly worth much less than something that is almost pure gold. you most likely wouldnt be able to tell visually.

the only thing you can do is to get it examined but dont get your hopes too high.
