The 120 mm rear fan on my chassis only has a Molex connector. It's powered and running nicely, but I would like to connect it to an open motherboard 3-pin header so I can monitor the fan speed. Are convertor/adapters available for this?

By golly, you're right. I took a closer look at my chassis fans and the 120mm fan in question has only two wires. I bought a fan last week from a local computer supply store and it has three wires just like you say. Thanks, mpilchfamily :)
