How to lower ram timings?

Okay, I have my E4300 running stable at 333 x 9 = 3.0 GHz.

ASUS P5W DH Deluxe
G.Skill DDR2 800 (4 4 4 12) Stock

So the memory is only running at 667 not 800. What is the strategy for lowering the timings? Do you just randomly lower one of the numbers and then test for stability?

It's doubtful the G. Skill RAM will boot at 3 CAS Latency. Even if you bumped up the RAM voltage in BIOS while trying 3 CAS Latency probably won't happen.

It did a little more than boot...

That was with 2.05 volts and New Egg lists the ram voltage as 2.00-2.10.

Not even sure this little hick-up was caused by the ram or not? *shrugs* What next?

Mine are running at 989 mhz. 4-4-4-12 3:5. That 3 GB 2 x 1 GB + 2 x 512 in Dual channel on Vista 32. I have a dual boot with Windows XP Pro and I can't remember which OS I tried CAS 3 in, but it fell on it's face. I like the RAM very much. I've had it over 1000 mhz. A transfer rate of around 8.4 GB per second is great with me! I have my RAM voltage set at 2.25 in BIOS. e6600 at 2.7 Ghz.
