I have recently obtained a used Intel WCF2011BMWW WiFi LAN card in CF
format for my iPAQ 3835. The iPAQ is Windows Mobile 2003.
The Intel driver I downloaded was specific to this card but I am
attempting to use it in my iPAQ when it was originally supplied as an
option to the Toshiba E570.
Intel describes it as an "OEM Product, information provided as a
courtesy"
A user guide is also available:
This User's Guide provides software installation and configuration
information for the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2011B LAN CF Card when used
with a Toshiba* E570.
It seems reasonable to think the driver and card would both work in an
iPAQ but maybe I am missing something and the driver would only work
with Toshiba hardware.
So far I have not been able to get it to work with my home network. Can
anyone confirm it should work with my iPAQ? The Intel driver installed
ok as far as I can tell but when I get to
Settings>Connections>Advanced>Network Card it does not move to the next
screen. Should I keep working or is this likely hopeless?

Probably not because the E570 was, if I recall correctly, a Pocket PC
2002 device. The one thing that almost always needs updating between
Pocket PC revisions are WiFi drivers and the like. If your 3800 was
still a 2002 device I'd say give it a shot, but being 2003, I wouldn't
until you find a driver that says it works with WM2003.

Or he might find a firmware upgrade to turn his PPC 2002 into a 2003

He did that, that is why the 2002 driver for the WiFi card probably
won't work.
