Tried with just one 250GB drive and still no joy, I even tried with 1 of the 80GB on its own, would installing an IDE drive do anything at all?

I have finally found out what the problem was.

THE B****y RAM

One of the RAM sticks was playing up at PC2 800 speeds so I had removed it from the board, I had a brainwave this morning to try the problem memory in the board again but to underclock them both to PC2 577 or 677 which everone is correct, tried the install again and now every thing is working perfectly, the installation is underway with no further problems at this moment in time.

May I thankyou all for your help and input on this matter.
