Well, I recently left my pocket PC alone for a long time, and the bateries
went completely dead. Needless to say, everything was lost on the Axim. How
do I restore it to how it was before?

Just putting it in the cradle and syncing it didn't seem to work. I think I
named it differently. How do I find out what I called it before??

If you never backed it up to a storage card or use the Backup feature
in ActiveSync, you can't get all your stuff back. You can only dock
and sync with the computer and anything that is in Outlook or in your
....\My Documents\Pocket PC Name My Documents\ folder are still
available.

If you did back it up wth ActiveSync and that backup is on your PC,
dock as a guest, then in ActiveSync select Options|Backup/Restore and
restore the device.

Well, I THOUGHT I backed it up, but when I go to restore it, I get a file
error. Oh well, live and learn. Now I gotta try and get it setup to how it
was before. Dang sure I'll be backing it up this time!!!

There is one thing that can cause a restore to fail every time and
that is if the regional settings on the device are not the same before
running the restore as they were when making the backup. If you have
checked that and still get a file error, then it sounds like there is
some form of corruption.

I recommend you check out www.spritesoftware.com for your backup from
now on. It isn't free, but is well worth it.

Better yet, be sure to plug it in when not in use.
