PPC battery dying... what to do?

I have Audiovox Maestro 1032 that has served me well for the past few
years. These day I'm not getting much more than 30 minutes of battery
time before the system shuts down. At this time I'm a little short on
money but I have these 2 options:

get an used PDA to replace the 1032. Obviously tthe battery's life
would be an issue plus I still prefer 2 slots, one for SD card to hold
my eBooks and important stuff (almost 1GB worth) and a CF slot for
wireless connection. I have seen 802.11 CF with built in memory that
I could afford now but those have too little memory and I don't know
if there's one with 1GB+ RAM.

Getting a new battery. It may be my best short term solution for the
moment. But where to get one and how would I go about taking my PDA
apart?

My long term solution is to get a brand new unit with either built in
1GB+ and/or 802.11 support so I wouldn't need 2 slots anymore but it
is probably not this year.

A used PDA will come with a used battery. Keep that in mind.
