I have determined that my Pioneer Elite DV-45A DVD player will play Memorex
DVD-R with a media code of PRODISCG02 but not with media code CMCMAGAF1. (I
found this by using DVDInfoPro as described on www.videohelp.com.) That is,
the discs I've burned with media code PRODISCG02 will ALWAYS play on my
player but the discs with media code CMCMAGAF1 will NEVER play (well) on my
player.

The problem is, how do I use this knowledge when PURCHASING the media? All
of the discs I've bought have been Memorex but one bunch was the PRODISCG02
media type and the other was the CMCMAGAF1 type. The only way I know to
find the media code is to put it in my computer and use DVDInfoPro. Is there
a way for me to look at the packaging in the store to know which type I'm
getting BEFORE bringing it home?

It's really annoying not having my discs play properly. I'm willing to buy
a bunch more discs and re-burn all the CMCMAGAF1 DVDs but I want to be sure
it works (i.e. that I have PRODISCG02 media)!

Thanks for any info/advice.

Brad
