I have heard that linux kernel 2.6 version has both preemptive and nonpreemptive scheduling techniques.

it is optional to the user ofcourse.

is this really has anything to do with the personnel desktops?
how it helps a User a normal user?

could any one explain with an example of lower priority process preempted by an higher priority process. under which circumstances it happens?

FOR A NORMAL USER

thanks
