I'm relatively new to building PCs, and I was wondering if there's anything I should know about this build. Parts I'm considering buying...

I already own a 3.4 ghz P4, and I think that's enough to hold me off until the Core2's drop in price more.

Good stuff. Personally I'd prefer a 965P DS3 over that Asus board, but that's still a good board.
Can you tell me more? I don't know really know what makes a good mobo a good mobo...so if you could tell me why you think the other ones better I might consider it. If the price is right of course.

The Asus is certainly a good mobo. The DS3 is a bit cheaper and overclocks a bit higher and has one more PCI slot, though it doesn't have a second PCI-e x16 like the Asus. The Asus can still overclock quite well. So really, whichever you prefer, they're both good.
