forwarded to me. This is really WIERD!!!! I get a message in the email
that say the attachment is in a format the cannot be played. However, lets
say the I forward the same message back to myself, it shows up as an .wav
attachment and I can listen no problem. Why??

Did you try to just save the file, and change the extension to .wav ??

Bob,
Who is making the voicemail server in your VoIP environment? If you are
using Cisco Unity 3.x then the codec used on the voicemails can be an issue
on P/PCs. If it is Unity 4.x you should be okay.
Now everybody knows what the "day job" is all about! :-D

If you want, post one of the files (with a test or other harmless
message) at microsoft.public.pocketpc.binaries and I will take a look
and see if I can determine the codec...

Bev,
Nope buddy, completely different codec.
As for the upgrade, if the customer has Cisco SASU (Support and Software
Upgrade) maintenance, the cost of the software is no-cost and most of the
servers that support 3.x will support 4.x (not always).
