I have a Toshiba Laptop A215-S5837.
It has the following specs (According to Piriform Speccy 1.11.256):

MS Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
CPU
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-60
Tyler 65nm Technology
RAM
2.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 332MHz (5-5-5-15)
Motherboard
TOSHIBA IALAA (Socket M2/S1G1)
Graphics
Generic PnP Monitor (1280x800@60Hz)
ATI Radeon X1200 Series (Toshiba)
Hard Drives
313GB Western Digital WDC WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0 ATA Device (SATA)

1.98GB SD Memory Card (SD)

While I'm using my laptop, it periodically hangs when in use. I may be watching a youtube vid when my laptop will hang and I won't be able to do anything for a second or two. I've updated my graphics drivers and still have the same issue. What can I do?
Also, when I play an MP3 (with the correct audio codecs) using VLC player, the song will skip every five or ten seconds. I thought it was a bad MP3, so I tried it with several hundred other MP3's and I still have the same issue. What can I do?
I'd like to solve this issue without having to re-install the OS. I know that step is available, but I don't want to use it unless I really have to.
I've also run: CCleaner v3.08.1475, Defraggler (in safe mode), aVast Anti-Virus 6.0.1203, TuneUp Utilities 2010 v9.0.4100 (in Turbo Mode), Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.51.1.1800 (in safe mode)
How can I make the hangs and freezes go away?
