I recently formatted my harddrive in order to reinstall XP and start fresh. However, I'm having problems getting all the windows updates because of the windows verification thing. Is it possible to get the SP2 updates as well as all the other updates by NOT MANUALLY doing windows update but rather allowing it to auto-update?
I've heard that it is possible to do this but am not sure.

Yes / No.

You will need to install SP1 and 2, which can both be downloaded form the Microsoft Website.

Service Pack 1a Download
Service Pack 2 Download

Then you can use a program called AutoPatcher XP to bring your machine up-to-date. It is a bulk installed for all the latest Microsft patches, and includes a wide variety of handy tool and tweaks to help customise your system. A couple i would recomend are PowerMenu, and StartupMonitor.

You can get Autopathcer XP at the official site. You want to download the June 2006 Full version, not the update version, this are for people with previous versions of Autopatcher installed.

Hope this helps.
