Has anyone had experience ordering Dish HDTV through Sprint Local
phone company ?

I am being quoted almost unbelievable pricing with no contract
commitment. A Dish HD DVR-922 receiver and another HD receiver for
$49.95 install refunded on the first bill. 120 channel package - 4
room capability - full install for $49.95 a month with no contract.

If it seems to good to be true it probably is BUT this is Sprint - so
I guess if it does not work, I can get them to take it out.

I can't find anything on the DVR 922 only the 921 anyone know the
difference ?

Thanks

They will want at least a one year commitment guarenteed with a credit card.
you bail on them and they still charge your card for the monthly fee.

Having had a Sprint phone in a market where they're a major player, and now
going into a market where they are not a major player, I would not buy it
from them.
There's plenty of free 4 room DTV online deals available.

Plus I bet it's not HDTV receiver in each room but just one and the rest
are SD receivers.

Well, I went ahead with it. No, it was not what it sounded like to
begin with but still a pretty good deal. Installation is on 11/6 so
we will see then what happens.

The summary turned out like this:

Install in and outside - $49.95 with that credited back on the first
invoice.

Monthly fee:

49.99 for 4 rooms (I only need 3)
10.00 for 2 HDTV receivers

59.99 Total
-5.00 For having Sprint Telephone service

54.99 Net.

This is for the Dish 180 Channel Package with free 6 months of the
Dish HD package (9.99/mo after 6 months).

This includes my local channels in SD on the Dish.
Includes installation and hook up of the OTA antenna for HD locals.

So - this is on paper a pretty good deal compared to the $47.98 I am
paying for 2 rooms of Direct TV SD (Total Choice Plus). Essentially
$7/month more - no contract and 2 HDTV receivers, OTA antenna full
installation.

I phoned Direct and spoke to Customer Retention - they could not match
the deal.

The only thing that really turned out false and Sprint apologized was
that the DVR-921 (HD_DVR) is not available and they said they were
misled by their Dish rep. They did offer me a SD DVR in this package
price and I told them I would wait for the HD one when it becomes
available.

I will post an update when I get it installed.
