I am trying to image a dell optiplex gx280 using Riprep. I can create the image on the RIS server and I don't have any problems with the NIC drivers. The problem is that when I go to network boot the client computer, the image I just made using riprep is not available. Flat images are just fine, but riprep images are not there. HAL compatibilty should not be a problem because I am trying to upload the image onto the same computer that I created the image with. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this.

I found the answer on another newsgroup posting. If you are creating a riprep image you have to do it from a flat or cd image. I was using a ghosted image that had programs and configurations, etc on it. I did an install this morning from a flat image, then set up the computer the way I wanted it from the flat image and then ripreped and everything went much smoother and quicker. Hopefully this will help someone else.
