Mid level gaming system for around $1000

This not a post about weather i should go with AMD or Intel. I just want to know if these parts will play the few games i play at my monitors default resolution of 1280x1024, with decent eye candy turned on.

Most of the time the computer will be used to browse the internet and what not. But i do like to play some games here and there. I.E. Supreme Commander, Civ 4, Fear, ect.....

Also id like to be able to play some of the newer DX10 games when they do come out.

Should have no problems running your games, looks like a very nice build.

For some of the older shooters, such as HL2 as such, high eye candy can be turned on for a decent frames of <60FPS.

Or the other area I might change is the powersupply. If your looking to spend 1k on hardware alone, I might put some extra cash here. That way your next video card (like another 8800 in SLI) will have enough power to run.

There's some really good reading in the PSU section of the forums if you consider it.

Or for instance purepower 600W is $5 cheaper for 50W more power but no modular cables.
