It's out, I just ordered it and will be taking it for a test drive. ........$256.
This is crazy, looks like AGP got a second wind !! As they say " a light burns its brightest just before it dies".
Apperantly NVIDIA decided to fight back against ATI with a high end agp card.I also hear that the 8600 series will have an agp counter part as well.I guess agp gets a new lease on life for now.

The only difference i can see is 200mhz in the memory clock, yet its alot more $$. Am i missing something or there something much better about this second card that im not seeing?
Drum Roll Please......and the Winner is the X1950XT AGP by a landslide......
Should have know what the results were going to be after using the Gainward Bliss 7800GS+ 512MB which was based on the 7900GS. Before I get to the numbers, remember what I said about the Gecube Box? Look at the size of the Gecube compared to the 7950GT. Hummm, maybe there's something there. The Larger the Box, the Larger the performance??
Anyway, on my rig the Gecube clearly came out on top. Even at it's X1950XT's default clocks it beat the 7950GT overclocked. I also used Driver Cleaner a few times because I thought the numbers were a little low for the 7950GT. Made no difference though so I guess I'm still an ATI guy.

Your Welcome WhiskeyRuss, please read the post below thoroughly and sorry we had to get acquainted like this.
Hello all, I post on several forums using the username Honestjohn and quite a bit on Guru3D.com. The sick twisted little freak who is posting under my identity was banned at Guru3D for Trollining a 1000 post X1950 Pro thread I was a part of. He is stealing my posts, copying them here, linking to them, and then adding his little inane/insane comments to them. If he give you any advice on the lastest cards, ignore it. He owns none of them. I have notified Guru3D.com of what is going on and I will be reporting his posts here. I just happend across this thread when doing a Google search on reviews for the X1950XT.
Guruboy you are reprorted and for this sick little game you should be put in jail.
To verify what I am saying here, I just made the post below under MY userID on Guru3D.com about the insanity going on here. See the last post.
He copied my signature exactly from OverclockersUK Forum.....see the note in green I left to further verify my identity. This is the first forum he followed me to.
I'm not posting here no more, I moved to other forums as honestjohn, maybe !!! you will sooner or later thrash them too, Since the ati 1950 really isn't a hot topic anymore, this is no big deal.
Happy Hunting
I have two systems, one PCI-E (7900GT, SLI) and one AGP (6800 Ultra). They are both nice rigs. If it wasn't for my PCI-E being my main gamming system I would definitely order the 7950 for my AGP rig. I got the AGP 7600GT for my sons PC (he needed an upgrade) and it is working out pretty well. Of course PCI-E is here, however if you don't have the funds to upgrade I think the newer AGP cards will serve you well.
