Hi All, I'm having problems with the WAN on my FVS338. Once or twice a day I have to cycle the power on the router to get it to reconnect. I'm quite disappointed as I assumed this was a business class router. Netgear customer support has had me upgrade and then downgrade firmware versions. They don't seem to have an idea.
Went through the same problems early on. Make sure you update the firmware to v2. It fixes a a lot of problems but not all, Still dealing with there tech support.
Before doing the update, reset the router back to factory. Use this procedure:
1. powered up press the reset and hold for 20 sec
2. with out releasing the reset pull the power , continue holding fot another 20 sec.
3. the power back up still with the reset pressed for another 20 sec.
Total time 1 min, this is a factory clear all setting seq.
Thanks for the reply. Netgear tech's support in India has been no help. They don't seem to have a clue. They've told me to upgrade to latest firmware and then roll back to previous version. I'll try to reset to factory default prior to upgrading.
The original fw had a problem with lease times greater than 24 hrs. The v2 still has a problem if you have to use a clone mac. Sometimes it reconnects on boot sometimes not.
More problems with this brick. WAN stopped working all together. Tried to repower and then reset with your instructions. Didn't revert to the original version of the firmware though as I expected. Did I not correctly reset the router?
