Anyone else encountering this?

I pop in the DVD (from Microsoft) and boot up, it does the 30 seconds of transfering the setup files, then it looks like it is starting the installation process. I see the moving windows bar scrolling to the right...... forever.

It never starts the installation process no matter how long I wait.

A8N-SLI deluxe
Athlon64 3700+
2x512mb ram (PC3200 no brand samsung original)
SATA 300Gb maxtor
SATA2 80Gb samsung
Asus 7800GT

It can't be the sata drivers. It didn't need them for XP, plus it doesn't get far enough into the install process to even ask me for the SATA drivers. It is getting stuck right at the beginning.

Possibly my ram? I ran memtest.org and there were no problems.

Anyone else have any ideas for me? I'd like to get it working on this system. Both the 32bit and the 64bit versions do the same thing.

Well, I seem to have found a fix.

I went into my bios and disabled the lan and sata controllers, then I was able to install no problems.
